RARRHAHAHAHAHHHHH!
"I am not your average person"

Maybe I am affected by my gastric today, maybe my brains just cracked a little. Today's Dazu, was especially bearable. Excluding the breaks, it was a nine hour musical marathon, strange as it is, within an air-conditioned room, packed with masses of people, junked by messes of musical instruments and scores, with the quest for better music. You would never have thought it would be such a great idea, perhaps, you would request to faint in between, then revive after a little rest before continuing that strenous journey. Along the way, you face uphill challenges like YIN ZHUN, downhill resistances like YIN SE, uneven terrain of EMOTIONS, smooth ground of TEMPO, and the last sprint of FEAR. If this sounds a little familiar to you, you're right. It's just a Dazu practice with Mrs Ee, of LIN AN YI HEN.

Wincing with my cursing gastric and struggling to baffle heavy eyelids, I succeeded, I am a GOOD GIRL! Mrs Ee said I was a good girl! Right, for getting the crescendo right for the first time. Morbid! Morbid!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our poor senior have to finish our food like EVERYDAY of the week!!! This is sabbaticals week, and the sec 1 HMP class has this Food Adventure sabbaticals... and guess wad... we gave our leftovers to our dear senior, Shawn. haha. It was chicken curry, roti jala and ondeh ondeh today (malay cuisine) and haha, we fed it to our starving senior!!!We are so kind-heated people... rite cass? Its just tat we bloated her and send her to heaven earlier...
Yeah!!! the next cuisine is Szechuan SEAFOOD (mmm... i like seafood) as e main dish, so poor Shawn must help us finish the food again, unless u other seniors would like to taste our own cooking. If u do, please come to class4/13 during the long breaktime for these few days. We would be happy to serve all of u, but as more people come, there will be less amount of food for each of u...haha.

tiring day. right shawn? haha. i went to shawn's house while waiting for shirlyn. saw the dog, which bit (not very hard) my sock and foot. oh then we had shrimp wantons! haha. so full lucky i only ate 3 xD then back to school. prac a bit then shirlyn called to say her class was locked and her erhu and scores were inside. so shawn and i went to look for her and then find their teachers. run up run down. then faster go move yangqin to music rooms. lost some of my syf stamina for carrying yangqins already. must start training again. heh.

HI EVERYBODY!!!!
This is second reporter Weasel here, and this post is dedicated to our dear Cockroach, who did not come todae...haha

It was a fun dazu, u can sae it, as in my point of veiw lah. I came in, to the room bustled with many people!!! Wad are they doing? they are preparing for Lin An Yi Hen.[(The time: 4.00pm)-the fact that i just came frm hmp] thus not knowing how good was huang he todae...(sorry Chewy) Me and cass were behind laughing and laughing and laughing... haha... for no particular reason. Moreover, both of us are very happy, as we finish our LA assignment during CO time just now... HAHA We were sitting at the back and i found out that from there, Mrs Ee's voive is very very soft.
Anyway, as it is the first time we are playing Lin An Yi Hen as a whole orchestra, we can't expect very good results rite? However, it is considered fast already, as compared to huang he, jing chu and huang tu qing.We managed to get to the part where Shawn and Pei Yan played the LAME part...haha And for your information, it's bar 288... if I did not remember wrongly.
Yea, so tats abt it. If there is any mistakes here, pls correct me ASAP, as i dunno the whole dazu of todae. And to dear cockroach, you are supposed to pay $12 for the HCCO concert, tats if Ziyi haven inform you yet.
If there is anything I missed out, add in for me. cya

HEY (:

Shawn ah! I wasn't a terror okay. Today was rather slack I think, which is BAD.

AND, I'd like to tell you all for the millionth time, THE YANGQINS ARE VERY OUT OF TUNE. I randomly tested one yangqin today, and it was beyond belief. It sounded like it hadn't been tuned in a couple of years and I seriously don't know how in the world that yangqin can go for dazu. I'm turning naggy! Ahh. Nag so much about yin zhun. 2nd July is only DAYS away. And tuning isn't just the responsibility of me and Pei Yan or just those playing yangqin for dazu, but a responsibility on the shoulders of the entire section. Pei Yan and I are going up to tune yangqins tmr lunch. There are two more yangqins available for tuning. All are invited to come. LOL.

And and and! Come earlier for practices can? Everyone walks in at three or even LATER.

If you haven't started taking concert seriously, it's kinda late to start.

HELLO PEOPLE!

Cockroach here, reflecting on the VJCCO concert attended last Thursday at VJC. It was such a different experience watching a JC's CO play, instead of the professionals or amateurs like us. They were the people caught in between the two standards; impressive but also needed improvements. Neverthesless, it was quite an exciting day (and night)!

The morning started with a bang with combined sports meet with *ahem*. I don't really see the point in having such a combined sports meet; it only kills more innocent cockroaches. Oh well, after the exhausting morning, juniors and seniors headed back home/Snowwoman's house for a little rest. Snowwoman, I heard your dog was cute! But errm no. I dont think dogs would take to cockroaches like me very well. Nooo...

Soon after, we met up in Orchard/Somerset and had our dinner there. X-ray, who lived in the VJC area, kindly directed us all the way from there to Bedok, and all the way into VJC. It was quite a sight to have NYCOYQP on the MRT/bus; we could very well be the next motor-mouths of Channel 5's new variety show!

Arriving at VJC at dusk, it could be noticed that VJC was still buzzing with activities and fun. Right, Baby, the renowned instituition looked like a resort indeed! While I was gawking at the beauty of the place, Daffy the Duck was awarded with a starfruit and Guo Lao with an orange. In case if you suspect us to be spreading propaganda of fruity surprises, you are wrong. We are just promoting our healthy beliefs through fruit. Tsk tsk. Even a cockroach has to remind you of that.

The concert was an eventful one, starting with the interesting piece "Tai Yang", or "Sun". Gracing the unique characteristics of the percussion section, it was an upbeat introduction that brought about much buzz in the audience. The ensemble also belted out different tunes of melancholy like "Liang Xiao", familiarity like "Pan Deng", complete with guzheng solos and beautiful music.

The finale came when the orchestra did an encore for Guo Lao, who had made plans for further musical studies later this year and had decided to leave. The song, a happy one, screeched a certain solemness in the air. Guo Lao was mean; why did he want to leave us behind? Sigh. I am one puzzled cockroach.

Soon after, it was time to head home, apparent with a weary NYCOYQP. With most of us riding on the MRT, the night faded away... Oh yes. I reached my cockroach nest at 12.48pm. Sigh. I am one tired cockroach...

today was funny!
stayed back to prac with shirlyn for her hmp exam next wk. shawn stayed too. yeah. so we practised. and shawn was making shirlyn go faster! haha. then when it came to the "tortureful" part.. it was very amusing as we had to tell shirlyn the correct way to breathe/ give me the cue. then danhong came! and we made her watch. then oh yes mrs ee! we saw mrs ee coming to yq room then shawn went to 'hide' and we were all going oh no. yeah then she asked us what we were doing so we told her. lucky she didnt stay to listen. so we slowly progressed to the end stopping many times in between so next week prac again. then shawn and i stayed till 4.30 and went home!

RAINING CATS AND DOGS))

"Sha... Sha..." It might be raining cats and dogs now, but cockroaches do have a say in NYCOYQP. Cockroach here to update on today's xiaozu! Qu Lao practised dazu songs like "Huang He" and "Huang Tu Qing" with the few yangqin players, and basically I came out dazed and yellow after my session with her. Heh heh heh. She was in a good mood fortunately; maybe all that yellow pieces cheered her up more! Oh well. Over at percussion, it was quite a disappointment that Guo Lao did not come, since many of us were anticipating his arrival. I heard he had some rehearsal/celebration for the Teresa Yip Mother's Day Concert? Maybe it was a wake-up call for Guo Lao to learn to become more motherly; we have seen enough of his patriach personality. Just kidding!!! Zebra, Feline, Baby, Pencil, Xylophone, Jackpot, Weasel, Cuttlefish, X-Ray and Cockroach were all present. Our combination gets a little lively with both living and non-living objects in NYCOYQP. Oh well. We are not humans anyway. How can we be humans? X)

HELLO! Your SL is here to blog! I think I'm damn lag lah, now then write my first entry on this blog. Anyway, I have heard some stuff about dazu today! woots! yangqin arh... you all know eh, practice hard! (: did you all like almost yi ge yi ge lai? must jiayou! not just for Mrs Ee's dazu but also for Linlaoshi's dazus. And not only for yangqin but also for percussion. AND not only for dazu but also for xiaozu!

whoohoo. Just to let you all know, me and Felicia will be back for practices next week. Do not fret! XD How did you all manage without sec4s around for one week? DID YOU ALL MISS US?

oh yeah i propose we change the tagboard colour! it looks different from the rest of the layout. and i hope we can get a nice one soon. rahh. anyone here knows how to make layouts? heheh. anyway the person who created the cbox account please change the colour okie? THANKYOU. haha.

Sec4 IP Higher Chinese Mid-Year on Monday. Wish me and Felicia luck! *crosses fingers* and good luck for all your test results too, you all should be getting back your tests right :S heheh hope you all do well, score A1s! May the force be with you! o.O BYEBYE EVERYONE.

WELCOME TO NYCOYQP TONIGHT!

This is Chewy reporting here on the latest news and affairs from NYCO's practice today. It was an eventful day for NYCO when Mrs Ee conducted "Huang He Movements 3 & 4" with great precision. On the general perspective, every section was grilled by the concise needs and standards of Mrs Ee, except for the Percussion section. This could be a biased opinion but Cockroach had felt the practice to be highly exhausting due to the high amount of concentration put in by everybody. She also felt the pressure of the tuning expectations from the conductor.

Let us now move into detail of the NYCOYQP's participation during the practice. On a positive insight, Weasel and Cockroach from the yangqin district were strongly encouraged to practise more effectively and consistently in an effort to bring the orchestra to greater heights. Go for it, you can do it. Pencil was doing great and offered much help to the rest too. Over at the percussion district not for away, Jackpot, Baby and Apple were seen playing with much enthusiasm, especially during the end of Movement 4 where percussion was imminently prominent.

Lalala!

Hi people! Chewy the Canned Cockroach here. I am here to update about 04/05/06 Thursday's Dazu! Today Lin Lao practised "Huang Tu Qing" with us quite concisely, and I think it was quite productive because he tried to perfect certain areas although I thought our playing could be further improved upon. However, one big problem was that the Sec 4s are gone (NOOOOO) and the atmosphere/mood/feelings are not there because we are not playing together. So saddening RARRH. It was very empty and the air conditioning was exceptionally cold! Come back Sec 4s! Tomorrow is Mrs Eee! (*_*) Sec 4s come back and save us!!!

hello i'm updating about what happened during xiaozu today
for ziyi's information haha: qu lao shi lianned huang tu qing, lin an yi hen, and sec 1s today i think.
she didn't lian huang he cos at that time only i was there.
anyway we didn't get to watch any video. guo lao shi said next time when we're all present then watch. probably next week.
and benita asked him if we could take a video of him to learn from his tai2 feng1 haha.
for daji we lianned gu shi square 5 and 6, and square 10 to around the end. there are a few changes he made, i'll tell you all when we meet again!!

NYCOYQP!!!

Heyyo people! Finally this long awaited blog is up for NYCOYQP! YAY! Hahaz I think this blog would be useful for us to check on latest updates during lessons and stuff, especially when we do miss practices sometimes for apparent reasons. Oh well. Okay. Here's some little funny trivia I came up with:

Lame Story?
One day, Shawn the sneexing snowwoman was walking in the streets with Xinyi the X-mas X-ray. She sneezed and sneezed, and met Xu Hao the xenophobic xylophone. Xu Hao happens to be afraid of meeting strangers, and therefore, she is very much afraid of Shawn and Xinyi. Then after, Ziyi the zany zebra and Felicia the ferocious feline, Xu Hao's friends, came along to help her. Along the way, they saw Benita the (abandoned) basket baby on the streets, and thought she was really cute, and therefore picked her up and let her tag along on their travelling. Together, they all helped Xu Hao to overcome her xenophobia by introducing her to Amanda the antagonising apple, who, contrary to popular beliefs, is not antagonising at all. Amanda also helped everybody to be healthier with her regular boost of Vitamin C and other minerals! With all these minerals choked up, the people decided they could do with a little writing. Ziyi picked up a magical powerful pencil called Peiyan and soon was enjoying the many things she could compose out of this little pencil. Felicia also had a little fun playing with the jamming jackpot, Jaime, because of its never ending flow of coins, also contrary to its name. Soon after, Wendy the wisely weasel came along and decided to join the people in their fun and games. They travelled from mountain to mountain, sea to sea, and came across a little being called Cassandra the curly cuttlefish. It isnt edible, but was an interesting being, with experiences from being in the sea. Soon, all of them, Shawn, Ziyi, Felicia, Peiyan, Benita, Amanda, Xu Hao, Jaime, Wendy, Xinyi and Cassandra journeyed back to a place called M4-01 in NYGH. There, they saw Chew Fei the canned cockroach crowding around a drum that had its center drawn with a cartoon-ish head, and two thin sticks. They decided: "Why not make some music out of these items?" And so, NYCOYQP was formed. With the drum for percussion, and the sticks for yangqin.
