Competition to many is a sensitive word. Competition is not just about the surface level; of a physically seen contest; it is one of a silent lurking force in each of our hearts. Competition involves a slight tendency in the ballooning of egocentrism for the defendants; the prosecutors stepping up to match up to the standard. Competition requires careful strategy; some tedious planning. Competition brings about glory, about ambition, about fame: Competition is a mage at work.

But what we fail to realise about competition is about the cruelties it brings about. Competition often harms a party, if not two. Conflicts, politics, gore are often induced from competition. Competition often brings out the best performance in one's worst character (which means it is horrible anyway). Competition is the opposite of a transient process; in fact competition lasts long, drags on; forever and ever. And what if someone dies from the competition? His soul lingering behind, bent on winning the competition? What if the competition was the world to him?

Then don't practice competition.

Just a few short lines on competition. Like SYF, or NAC, etc. Rambling again! XD

A sudden wave of nostalgia. For seniors. For Guo Lao.

Look at this. Everybody has such genuine smiles. Notice Shawn in her normal anti-photo antics. And Wendy trying to shy away from Guo Lao. Haha.

YQP for generations long. Notice Shawn again trying to gnaw my head. And Jamma trying to be a ghost! Haunted M401!

Guo Lao's birthday cake. Pink words.

Cassie Pok's birthday cake. Barbie-like pink words! XD

Food makes one enthusiastic.

A final farewell? Notice Felicia deliberately covering up her legs.

Tim last year.

Shawn last year. Don't go "kanasai" at me!

Little figures Felicia made for us as parting gifts. Pretty obvious who all of these people eh!

Me.

Me and Jamma.

Me and Jamma sharing our nuptial wine.

NYCO after the GWH. YQP right smack at the back!

YQP logo! YQP Forever!

Hello! This is a post about our YQP t-shirt. Previously some of us lodged off away the idea of a windbreaker because:

1) It is expensive for a small group like us;

2) The designs are normally ugly and not very creative;

3) It is not very versatile!

That's why it might be better to have a YQP

1) Tshirt
2) Polo tee
3) or Jersey!

Here's a design that Xinyi has come up with! Good joooooob! :)
It is also currently my display picture. :) Here's a nice slogan she has come up with too:
Warning: YQP within 30m radius. Wear safety helmet and safety boots at all times.

Isn't it very cool?! XD I propose it to be our shirt logo! We can have a bright nice cheery yellow shirt. the logo would be placed inside a circle and the slogan circling it around, like a normal logo! It could be at the back of our shirts?

Then infront we could put:
YANG CHING DAH CHEE
then your own name e.g. Shawn the Prawn.

HOW'S THIS? (:

(PART TWO)

To my juniors:
Cassandra (Cassie-pok), Hyperactive perfectionist/ Pengling-pro-pok/ Curly Cuttlefish
You had always seemed more like a younger sister than just a junior to me. Not like I am as hyperactive or crazily funny as you are, but that we share a bond since we both stay in Woodlands! Whee. Always trying to contribute to YQP no matter whether in conversations or taifeng sessions. Frowns when playing your instruments, which makes you look very emotional (to some people, daoism).

Pamela (Pomelo), once Dizi-er now YQP-er too/ Shawn's uncanny resembling persona especially when playing the zhuban/ Pooping Pomelo?
You had always seemed to be the milder version of your wild legendary sister, until we saw your true colours some day when you were fooling around with Sherlene. Never acknowledged yourself to be in YQP until the critical period during SYF when you just could not control your love for the section (my inference). Always smiling very candidly (in a hahaha way). Made the zhuban a dancing tool.

Wendy, Yangqin follower/ Diao-expression advocate/ Wisely Weasel
You had always been more mature sounding than I thought juniors should be, or especially when I converse with you. Maybe it was your vast experience with CO or chinese music stuff! Almost always went home with Jamma and sometimes trying to convince Cuttlefish to jump onboard with you. Sometimes not wearing spectacles. Haha.

Xinyi, Tambourine zhang3 men2 ren2/ Lame humour-pok/ X'mas X-ray!
You had always been very consistent in keeping YQP alive with joyous spirit and life by providing lame and sometimes dirty/crude jokes! Great friend of "Smiley Ong"? Ferocious blogger who has a great designing talent! I suppose you're going to design our YQP shirt too. Always opinionistic and spontaneous with responses. Taller than me. Yuck.

No matter whether you're a senior, peer or junior, I love you all equally because you are all part of the warm and fuzzy NYCOYQP! SYF 2007 has been a great success due to all of your support and spirits; thus I present my greatest gratitude to all of you here. Do spread the love around by telling all YQP-ers to read this.

Just to let you know; YQP is special and we rock. :)

The following is a dedication to all my seniors, peers and juniors in YQP of SYF 2007. Although some comments may seem satirical, do note that I have the best intentions at heart; to identify with your laughing nerve somewhere in your body. Enjoy.

(PART ONE )

To my seniors:
Pei Yan, YQP Sectional Leader/ Yam Pie/ Powerful Pencil
You had been pretty nice to us all these while; rather understanding, rather kind. Never once scolded us for any time when we were slacking off or when we were not on the right track. Guided us along (especially in yangqin) when we needed the help. Always smiling/ laughing/ chuckling, seemingly indicative of the tricks you had up your sleeves sometimes.

Benita, Percussion Leader of sorts/ Self-proclaimed to be cute/ Basket Baby
You had been forever enthusiastic and motivational towards us when we lacked the zest. A senior of age, a peer (or even junior) at heart. Always set the good example of practising and tuning with impossible determination. Showed us how impossible was possible. And of course, being the hyperactive bundle of joy to all of us!

Amanda, Bi-instrumental juggler/ Taifeng enthusiast/ Antagonizing Apple
You had always been the epitome of awe. Being proficient at both yangqin and percussion equally, your other responsibilities as a Councillor/GEPer encourage most of us lazy juniors to reflect. Always made your instrument look like sometimes your arch enemy, sometimes your guardian angel (which means you have excellent taifeng). Last but not least always cracking some lame jokes. Haha.

Xu Hao, YQP Treasurer/ Intellectual advocate/ Xenophobic Xylophone
Though you entered YQP only last year, you had integrated well into the section too! Though you could not practice yangqin anywhere except in school during xiaozu, you practised hard and is now on your way to becoming a aspirational yangqin pro-kia. Always smiling and encouraging us along. Lame sense of humour!

To my peer(s):
Jaime (or Jamma), Future Dictator/ Tong2qi4+Shou2Gu3 Fascinator/ Jamming Jackpot
My best friend though we might not always be interacting with each other in normal best-friend ways. Always there for me to rant, complain and confide to/in. Always providing YQP with some sensational scandals or gossip. Been through torturous percussion lessons in Secondary One with me, not to mention the ongoing yangqin sessions (oops). Kind and helpful to everyone! Very adorable!

Sherlene, once Ruan-ner now YQP-er too/ Crash Symbals.Da Bo Lover/ Sinister Siao-pok
Everyone's first impression of you must be that you are rather demure. Totally the opposite. You had always been the funny bone in the section; laughing and smiling at everything, no matter funny or extraodinarily funny (as in weird). Very determined and set on presenting only but the perfect results. Anyway, you are always still a YQP-er forever!

- - -

To be continued. If you were slow and did not realise, I am the SHUAI-GE. (:
