oh hello hello!! auntie rae here, and i just realised it's my week this week. ok so i shall post about this week's dazu and xiaozu!!

tues:
dazu: i heard that this dazu was bali all the wayy and according to cass, lin lao calls part G the "rocker part" ,which is so cute, hahaha!! ok well, apparently that was about all i could find out ):

xiaozu:
from chewfei: we started out with xiaozu in the morn. et came, and QQ FORGOT ABOUT XIAOZU lol. et went through storm... and minimally, qinwang, and also a bit of taiyang was quite good, basically because there were no juniors from your (sec 2) batch (haha no distraction), et followed the timetable for once man, yeah it was just especially silent and efficient

thurs:
dazu: mrs ee was late, so dazu started at about 9.50am, i think. then we played diyierhu, as usual. well, i guess as a whole orchestra it was much better than before, but everyone still needs more polishing ): jiayou everyone! im sure we can do it!! (:

xiaozu: xiaozu started off with us standing in a straight row, short to tall, then the person in the front has to give the starting cue, then after that we changed places, and changed places again, and did it until everyone came in at the same time. this was to train our 整齐度 and to ensure everyone is alert and not slow. then after that we played qwdb with only one (left) hand, lesson learnt: it's a whole body experience, we have to cherish all our body parts' mucsles and really play properlyy!!!! after that, we picked up our sticks again and played qwdb with our eyes closed. purpose of this is to play the piece from the heart and maximise our taifeng, 'cause apparenty, not everyone's taifeng is to its max, so when no one is lookng and you can see no one you would probably be more willing to do taifeng! (: ok after all the weird but meaning ful activities, we played qwdb. points to take note off: DYNAMICS!! angle of taifeng, volume of our "hei!", speed! er. thats all i can remember for qinwang ):

after qinwang was storm, which the sec2s arent involved. chewfei: not bad actually. tried out the actual arrangement on stage for the layout, but jiani wasn't there, so... makes things less efficient.

taiyang!!!! quite ok, just that for some parts were slower than the original one /: jiayou jiayou!!!

ok i think that's about it for the practices... anything else just add in kae? urgh im tired. i shall go sleep already, goodnight!!

Hello dear juniors,

Thanks to shawn, I finally managed to log in. Anyway, I've something to announce. Cheng San Echoes of the Valley Chinese Orchestra is looking for yangqin players (1 or 2). This is especially pertinent for an upcoming 16th August concert, but can evolve into something longer term too.

What should you possess if you're interested?
1) Availability on Sundays 10.30am - 2pm (or even later if you wish to lunch with us)
2) Willing to learn and practice (ie, good attitude)
3) Committed and responsible! (to be able to inform if you can't make it for practices)

Practices are held at the Cheng San CC near AMK MRT. It'll be fun :) And for the more pragmatic lot, it looks better on your record (and resume in future if you do carry on)
Xinyu & I are there and we don't bite! If you're interested, or you know someone who is, you can contact me at 91709120!

And Chew Fei, you can come back too!

Yileng (who's frazzled and desperate)

okay !
i'm the reporter for this week *grins*
i feel important !
ahaha .
okay.enough crap.

i'm going to post about the sunday concert, and the kbox outing firstie !
because if i wait til friday night, i'l forget everything :x

and now, let's begin this EXCITING POST !

Sunday ACJC Concert:
one word: wow ! (this is so cliché) but anyway, it was nice (:
okay, so we met at city hall mrt, and we ate - .shiz.i forgot the name .OH. MOS BURGER !nice !(:
man.it's the first time i'm eating mos !(okay.i know i'm very deprived, but let's carry on )their nuggets are so fantastic, i tell you. but i totally regretted eating so much, cos i had a TERRIBLE STOMACHACHE RIGHT AFTER EATING !): dang. so i was practically dying on my way to SCH. don't ask me the details, it's sick. but anyway, i survived the journey, but yuka, yunge and i missed the first song due to UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES .alrite. we were in the toilet -.- thankyou yuka and yunge for SACRIFICING for me.ahah (:
then later we went in before the second song, and i couldn't remember the song list because i threw the brochure thing away and i totally can't remember any of the songs so don't blame me !): paiseh ! anyway, i like the conductor !he is so cute.ahahah .(shiz, did i say something wrong ?) and later was...... PEIYAN'S SOLO !ohmy, it was so amazing can. the starting and ending of the song, she played with 2PAIRS OF QINZU (ohmytian, how did she manage to do that?i tried it at home and, you know, ahem ahem.yea. this proves peiyan is a GENIUS), and later there was the strong wind blowing effect !really cool .and her outift was SEXAYE !ahahah .
okay.i'm officially high ! then later, plus minus some songs, the er hu songs were up. maybe it's my ears, or yunge's ears, or both our ears, we felt that there were some 音不准 issues going on there. ohwell, they played two songs, and if i'm not wrong, there was an interval after that. yea. we just chatted with peiyan and guess who we saw ? yes that's right, it's joy's best friend, QQ ! my, she must have loved it to see her disciple playing so well on the yangqin !
after the interval, there was an erhu solo with PEIYAN ON THE PIANO !(: then there were 2 or 3 dazu songs, and then there was a pipa concerto !the pipa soloist is very much like ms yu jia !yuka was like "一模一样!". i like her gown !;DD
and the song was quite nice i guess (: they played 2 out of 3 movements i think, and i personally liked the first movement (:
then after that was encore. got 2 encores man !the second encore was the western piece which the name i don't know but is definitely familiar to me !as well as everyone else !the mr shen guo qin was very high and ke ai and he started bouncing (at least in my point of view) and was like urging the audience to clap as well. ahaha.
so the concert was a success !very enjoyable too !just that i didn't like the free seating thing. dang, we did not get good seats ): then some pple kope our seats also !manzxzxz, if this happens in nyco concert (which i think will most probably happen ), then it'll be a little sad, isn't it?
ohwell.

okay, now is the much anticipated part of the post !

KBOX OUTING !
ahaha. we met at somerset mrt at 1.30pm , and then we went over to orchard cineleisure to meet xinyi !(:
then we went up straight to kbox !
when we went in, chewfei started the ball rolling by singing some of her 拿手好歌, like 我怀念的 (: then later more and more pple added in, and i rmb, xinyi and chewfei were singing 笨小孩 !very funny .ahaha .and yes cass, xinyi did sing !ahah.but sadly, that was one of the only times she sang !she was sleeping (or maybe pretending, or laughing in her sleep, whatever she was doing at that time) most of the time , and we tried to force her to sing the , wait let me recall, aiya, some rhapsody which apparently is very difficult to sing !and the mv was soo funny, the boy was soooo comical and laughable.no, we're not laughing with him ,we're laughing AT HIM. yea.lol .then we got high when we were singing FAHRENHEIT'S SONGS !seeeeeeee !(: and i don't know why rachel, yuka and yunge were laughing when i randomly shouted arron and mike through the MIKE when we were singing 最近还好吗 and ...出口 !rofl. and in the end, guess what we did !we chose ...er...周华建's 朋友, and we had to leave by then, so we did something really retarded: we changed the pitch of the song to like,2 octaves higher? and it was really ghey.really really ghey.and i was blasting it so that everyone could hear it, even outside, and rachel had to go and switch it off !)))): ohwell, we could try that again, maybe with '超ghey' 's voice, and see what the effect is. maybe the glass on the door will shatter o.o
and then we went to the food court downstairs to eat, and chewfei and xinyi went to taka, and i left yuka, yunge and rachel soon afterwards .
let's organise another kbox outing !((: and let's make sure everybody goes and that we'll get this really big VIP room !but let's not go cineleisure. the rooms there are uber small :x we could get larger rooms than the one we had on monday in other places ;DDD

and i liked rachel and yuka's comments !ahaha. shall not post them up here in case i go really really high and maybe start dancing with my dog :x (believe me, i tried it before, and surprisingly, my dog seems to like it o.o)

ALRITO !i shall stop the ranting and highness !
look out for the post about this week's practices !
尽情期待!

现在时间是八点,这是林韋汕,为您报道。
eee.sounds like the tv news reporter .ahaha .
and i like one sentence chewfei used in her last post,
'26 hands, 13 heads, 1 section. YQP FOREVER!'

yes, it's
YQP FOREVER !
*claps, cheers, jumps, screams, waves hands frantically, mass hugs my dog, acts crazy*
oops, you soo didn't see that ;D
ahaha !

bucketfuls of love,
weishan, who hasn't found her nickname yet, and is currently trying out different weird nicknames. yea.

Dear Chew Fei, Jiani and members of YQP,

I would like to convey my sincere apologies to both of you especially and everyone else.

I wanted to be involved in all the section activities, but I found out that I had problem in meeting up with all these. Thus, on the impulse, I had wrongly vented my frustrations with unnecessary strong words.

Sorry, Jiani. I understand your kind intentions, yet I brushed you off.

My hand phone is on a limited pre-paid card scheme, so each call and sms costs money. And I would like to abide by the school requirement of having the phone off during school hours. The phone is mainly for my parents to communicate with me.

Just to let you know, I have bought a second-hand yangqin under the recommendation of Qu Lao, so I practise at home.

Sorry for causing any misunderstanding and inconvenience and I hope to enjoy my CCA.

Yours truly,
Pei Er
(Your junior)

hello hello hello my beloved yqp!!!!!!! ok paiseh. im being high. (:

ok anyway, we once discussed about the kbox outing right? now me and chewfei has planned that we should go for our outing on vesak day, a public holiday, to the kbox at orchard cineleisure. from about 2pm to 7pm. whee 5 hours xD then we can meet at somerset mrt and go there together, as suggested by weishan. lol.

but then, this is still not comfirmed because jaime, cass, and yuka haven't replied me ):
but then i can comfirm that joy, sylvia, jia ni and pei er wont be coming T.T

sigh.

haiya in any case, this would be the most probable plan. so yea people please take note!!

oh and i thought that i should show you guys how big m4 really is (:

this was after we ban-ed all the instru to the area near the door, and i was standing somewhere near the switches i think. see, our perc area is so empty and big. wuahahaha xD

ok er... i have no idea what this photo is supposed to show 'cause i forgot my purpose for taking this photo (i have purposes for taking photos kae. i dont take photos at random xD ). ah anyway, for this i was standing at the door. but really, photos arent enough. you have to be there personally to feel and understand how big m401 realy is. (:

yep so thats all i want to say. please stay tuned to nycoyqp-ruach for updates on our kbox outing. hopefully the people mentioned would SMS me back soon ):

Dear Chewfei, Pei Er and YQP,
As the third person directly involved, I suppose I should respond to the posts as well.
Firstly, regarding the issue of Pei er not receiving the important SMSes. It is actually all right for me to send her the announcements every time, but with me being currently running low on the free SMSes, I chose to inform her personally. Furthermore, I think it is more secure compared to SMSing since some of us may either receive it punctually or not receive it at all.
Secondly, linking to the first issue, I would like to express my sincere apology to Pei er for causing her so much disturbances. Me, being a very carefree person, did not realise that she can have so much things to attend to. Thus, interrupting her during her group discussions. (Although I did not really see you discussing anything with your classmates when I rushed in.) Nevertheless, once again, apologise for my negligence and imprudence.
Lastly, I would like to suggest a NOVEL method of relaying messages. Would it be possible, if we call one another personally, in order to make sure that they are informed of what is to be done? To be candid, my suggestion may be a bit irrealistic, but to the naive me, it is worth pondering. What about a relay system?

Oooooh I should remember to sign off this time and use big big font.

Yours Faithfully,
Jiani L.

hi everyone!!! this week is my turn to post! yay! and sorry for posting so late...

lots of things happened this week... we have got tuesday, thusday and friday practices as usual, as well as morning circle, lunch prac, friday's morning assembly's performance as well as open house! but before posting about all this things, i shall make an announcement!

PLEASE PAY $5 TO JAIME FOR YQP FUND. THANK YOU:D

Tuesday=> today we again practised sha di er. and sheila said we were well- behaved and this prac was much more productive as compared to the other pracs. i'm so happy:) but i think we can still improve more in regard to our behavior during lin lao shi's dazu. like for example, though dazu is really quite boring at times, and we are all very tired and sleepy, we should still to more attentive and 精神 when playing sha di er. and i admit that i yawn a lot during lin lao shi's dazu, but i think i really shouldn't do that. cos yang qin is directly in front of lin lao shi and if i keep yawning and yawning, he will get sleepy also... so everybody 不要学我的坏习惯 ok? and i will definitely not yawn during dazu any more... well i will really really try... and oh yeah! joy you need to practise your symbals for sha di er!!! realy really...i know it's very heavy and difficult to play, but i believe that you can do it! fighting!!!

Thursday=> today only jia ni and pei er went for qu lao's lesson. (jia ni and pei er, hope that your lesson with qu lao was fine:D HAHA) and the rest of us all practised qin wang dian bing. i'm so so so so so sorry that me and wei shan went for the ivp draft session and we only came back at 5... SORRY!!! i realised that we really really should not miss any dazu and xiao zu practices... cos i was so not confident when i played qin wang after coming back from ivp, as i miss a whole 2 hours of practice. and then when it's near to 6pm, chew fei was suddenly informed that we were supposed to perform an extract of qin wang during friday's assembly!!! all of us were shocked, and nervous! and in the end we decided to play from the 漫起渐快 and end with 鼓心段 and the last 4 bars of qin wang. and we practised and practised until 6. 30.

Assembly's performance:D => we all arrived school at 6.45 to carry all the drums down and get ready. we did warm us which include treating our laps as drums and 海带券. and then we were still nervous, so stood in our position and played "aired qin wang". but after that, we were still scared that we would forget the score, so we practised many times among ourselves. and finally, we were going to perform! we carried our drums up the 'stage' with the help of the com. members and i was still super nervous. my hand was shivering and i didn't even dare to look at the people's expressions. so in the end, i kept on staring at chew fei and xin yi. although we made small mistakes, but the performance went on fine... but when it reached the 鼓心段, the speed became soooooooo fast!!! and i was so scared that my sticked would drop! but anyways, it's exciting:D i can say that the audience were quite impressed by our performance (although we all know that we can do way better than that:D) because my friends were like saying :"云阁!你们打得很好耶!好羡慕你们哦!" haha. i was so happy when i heard this:) all in all, i think that this is really a very very good experience for us before our real concert in july. and through this performance, we have become more confident on stage, esp for us sec twos, since this is our first time performing our own percussion piece in front of so many people. and also through this performance, we learnt that we can be really nervous on stage, but no matter how nervous we are, we must still stay confident and do our best. and one more thing, since we knew that we can be really nervous, we have to memorise our score very 熟 until we make no mistakes even when we are soooooooo nervous.

Friday=> i didn't go for this dazu because of my cap briefing... so sad... and i heard that friday's dazu was very good! i was so touched when i heard this. for the past few weeks, sheila has been giving us pep talks because the co's morale was low and mrs ee was in a bad mood for the past few weeks because our di yi er hu was lousy ... and the whole atmosphere was like so sad and depressing... but mrs ee was actually happy with our di yi on friday!!! i was really really happy on hearing that, and how can i miss such a important and meaningful prac? BOOHOO!!!

here's what i heard from others:

rachel> mrs ee say 第一有希望了!orchestra can play most of the parts. and we need to lian 方块3

weishan> 扬琴刮得比较好了。以前像龙卷风,现在变比较好了。

yuka> mrs ee was quite happy and she gave us a break:D

Open house
=> today we reached school at 8 and carried ALL of our percussion instruments and yangqins down. then we tuned yang qin and practised qin wang and slacked. mrs ee practised diyi with us and i realised for yang qin, we need to practise more and more from bar 268 onwards. especially me and rachel, we were like totally lost... so must prac harder! and then she gave us a break, then during the break, we practised qin wang and attracted many many many people. haha. so cool! but we still made mistakes so everybody must all go and memorise your score again to get 100% correct. and tong qi parts 加油!i'm sure you all can do it!!! fighting! then the afternoon performances were failures... sad to say... but we couldn't play together... i think may be it was because we are not sure of lai weng's style of conducting, so we dont know when to come in... and another problem was that we were not familiar with our score. like san shi li pu, we have not played this song for so long, so we couldn't possibly play it well. but i think although we are now focusing more on sha di er, di yi er hu, storm warning and dance, and qin wang, we must also prac bali and tai yang more... because we will become 生疏 if we dont practise. especially tai yang, since it's percussion concerto... so yeah... we need to practise more...

morning circle=> morning circle is supposed to start at 7, but i realised that many people only came at 7.10 to 7.20, and by the time we finished out breakfast and wake ourselves up, flag rainsing has already begun... so i think we can improve on that. everybody please try to come at 7 for morning circle, and can we practise qin wang? since concert is near and we need to familiarize with our scores...

lunch prac=> on tuesday we didn't have lunch prac because of sheila's talk session... and on friday i didn't go... what did we do on thurs? i totally forgot... sorry... can somebody who still remember what happened help me write this? thank you!!! i'm so sorry!!!

haha. i think that's all! hope that everybody enjoy your sabbaticals and i'm looking forward to our concert!!!

bye!

Dear Pei Er,

I appreciate that you had submitted sufficient courage and honesty to voice out your opinions here. As the world takes on globalization full-scale, we all need a platform to raise suggestions in order to welcome advancements, no matter for whatever issue, don't we? So I will firstly like to thank you for clarifying this while I can also take this opportunity to answer your queries and hopefully enlighten you on certain issues mentioned.

Firstly, I am sorry to hear about your immense frustration and annoyance. I show empathy for your situation where you hardly receive important news, as mentioned. It must have been horrible for you all these while. However, I will like to elaborate that whenever messages are being passed down, they are always sent to everybody involved. In that case, I find it puzzling why it does not reach your phone. Perhaps it is due to network or telecommunication errors? Well, some phones are prone to that. You might want to check that out first before addressing this issue with us. If it is so prevalent such that it happens even beyond messages for our section, it might really then be that case.

Secondly, I am proud of you in that you have grasped the concept of time management while being only a Secondary One junior in the school. However, as a Secondary Four student, Councillor, Sectional Leader, YFC participant, amongst other things, I fully understand the limitations to time management. Plans are merely theoretical; it is the practical course that matters at the end of the day. As recipients of the holistic Nanyang education system, we will be expected to juggle all such aspects well with ease. Easily said, hardly done. Back to the point where you will like to be informed earlier about news, I can in fact guarantee that nobody will like to do things last minute or receive late notifications, but we will always try to compromise with each other's schedules. I might like to warn you that this issue will be evident in your entire schooling life, and working career, and thus it will be better to take it in stride and seek alternatives rather than source for an absolute solution for this. Maybe our MM Lee cannot even provide a good answer to this.

Thirdly, I see that you place much emphasis on project discussions, perhaps for SIAs or other commitments. It is wonderful to see such dedication and determination, since once again, you are only a Secondary One junior in the first year of secondary school life. On Jiani's part, I believe that she feels the responsibility to inform you of the news first-hand, since the news might come to be more important than your project discussion at that point of time. If you will beg to differ, please do elaborate. This also corresponds with your previous point about having a preference to be informed earlier about matters. If it really comes as too much for you and your friends to handle, you might want to make other arrangements with Jiani so as to adopt a more well-balanced approach. Afterall, it is nobody's fault indeed.

Also, I concur that Jiani is not your personal messenger. What a humorous analogy! Maybe Jiani treats YQP issues with high importance, which I appreciate a lot for, and that is why she takes the effort to inform you personally. I will like to thank Jiani on this count, and also note that we indeed all have your new handphone number. You might like to double check again.

I will also like to express some concerns for your mobile-phone habits out of my own curiosity. Personally, I feel that having a handphone enhances my non-physical accessibility with the surroundings and it also enhances telecommunications greatly. That is why I check my phone as regularly as possible... I will thus like to advise you to switch on your phone more "predictably", perhaps at least about five times a day. Perhaps to a further extent, why even switch it off? Let me know if you have any other opinions about this. I assure you that news will get to you with more transience in this manner.

Last but not least, I will like to show my gratitude for offering constructive comments to improve YQP practices or meetings. For the former, you should have noticed that we have timetables to follow so it should not be a large problem. It is truly up to the instructors' discretions as to whether to follow the timetables and objectives as closely as possible. Out of a sense of deep respect for our instructors, I believe this is already the most ideal situation. For the latter, I also organize lunch practices or meetings with specific agendas. Others might call this a Councillor's workaholic method. With a slight bit of cheekiness I do agree. However, if you still feel the need for me to improve upon this aspect, feel free to raise any issues with specific examples so as to let me understand better. About digression that happens during meetings, I will like to request for you to view the issue with a less solemn eye. Which human being never digresses? Maybe it is someone as disciplined and organized like you, Pei Er, but maybe not yet for the rest of us humanly seniors. We will strive to learn from you in this aspect. Yes, seniors? :)

And regarding the miscellaneous affairs, about only formulating messages when the news are important. It is hard to define "significant" or "crucial" since every individual has different acceptance levels to them. I think I had covered this point in the previous few paragraphs. Thus, let us all strengthen our tolerance levels on this. And next about skipping practices, I think I must come firm on this point. Although I acknowledge your moral integrity in admitting to skip practices or meetings at times, I must come clean that no form of such behaviour is allowed in a highly structuralized and cohesive group in YQP, in NYCO, in NYGH. I am sure this rule does not just apply to those organizations mentioned. Maybe we can all take that as a principal moral regulation to adhere by... If we do aim to be righteous citizens of the future.

Once again, thank you Pei Er for your generous input and interesting ideas. I hope this reply had answered the burning questions in your head, and perhaps improved the impression of the section for you and your parents. It is my honour. In conclusion, we should always try to do it with a multi-pronged approach so as to resolve the conflict as easily as possible. It takes two hands to clap... For us it's twenty six hands, thirteen heads and one section. YQP forever!

Thank you very much and sorry for any inconveniences caused.

Yours Sincerely,
Phang Chew Fei

Sectional Leader
NYCO(YQP)

Hello! Pei Er here!

I been getting a bit frustrated and annoyed. Sometimes I do not recieve certain news, irregardless of how important it is. Like on the way home with Jiani, she will recieve an sms and my phone doesn't recieve at all, even after a long long while. For example, the section needs to meet to discuss some important stuff and I was not informed. Usually, I planned whatever free time that I have and they can be super packed or even very free. Though I may be free when I finally recieve the last minute news, I would definitely prefer to be informed earlier. The best thing comes when I am having project discussion with my friends and Jiani, having a very important message to tell me, suddenly runs in and has to interrupt the discussion. Firstly, both my friends and I are not happy to be interrupted. Secondly, Jiani is not my personal messenger. She does not have all the time in the world and has much more important things to do.Thus, if she has something more important to attend to, I would be left uninformed. I did remember smsing you all my new handphone number. And as I had said, I switch on my handphone very unpredictably and would definitely on it every morning before 7:30 to check for smses. My handphone no. is not 9192 1802. The service for that no. has been terminated, so if you don't have my no., please ask me for it.

Sometimes I realise that when I go for section practice or meeting, it always end up that everyone else starts discussing something else or not doing what is supposed to be done. It would be good to state the purpose even if it is bonding. Or maybe important things then an sms, unimportant things then no sms. Thus, I sometimes feel like skipping this things even if Chew Fei says that it is mandatory if not... The strong words soon lose a meaning to me and frequently the best thing is, important smses are usually told to me by Jiani. Reading it myself would DEFINITELY be better. I hope this would change as it is giving both my parents and I different opinions towards the section.

GTG!

HELLO! LONG TIME NO SEE!

here's a publicity stunt by ur very own senior!
after AJCO concert not too long ago, there is an upcoming HCCO concert on 1st June!!! (haha, can tell i am trying to sound hyped up. )
anyway, u should have heard about it i hope. it's at the Singapore Conference Hall on 1st June, yeah, starting at 7.30pm. tickets at 12 dollars.
ok this sounds abit desperate, but i dreamt that concert hall was only half filled. haha so please don make my dream come true! yay, can order tickets through nyco. oh and help to publicise also. we are playing tian shan and lao shu qu qin and our syf piece last year. don expect much from daji though, so far we are neither shuai nor zai. bleah feels zibei compared to u all. HAHA

HELLO HELLO HELLO!!!

I know this is really QUITE late to post about stuff this week (Week 8) but really SORRY!
Yes, it's time for me to post again! HAHAHA!

TUESDAY! Well, there was no Dazu but we did have GZ practice, which was (erm) FULL OF CHANGES! Right, luckily we don't miss GZ practices (well, with the exception of Thursday) since Pearly (is that how it's spelt?) keeps adding changes each practice! Oh no! My memory of Tuesday is REALLY REALLY stale so SORRY!!! (Nothing else to add, come on, let's just skip to Thursday!)

THURSDAY! We were supposed to go down for GZ practice but I AM SO SORRY, we didn't. I guess we have to prioritize huh? So well, we decided to skip GZ practice for Xiaozu. Yes. We were playing QinWang and then (SUDDENLY!) MRS EE came in!!!!! *EEEEK!*

It was kind of shocking and stuff, but i think (for the first time) we all (how to say) DAOED? her! HAHAHA! It's really quite hard for me, cause each time i stare at Sylvia (my dearest Juliet) i would indirectly stare at Mrs Ee and it's kind of, well... INTIMIDATING! Yikes!

I think we were all much more relaxed when she left cause suddenly when she came in, none of us laughed or anything, but when she left, we all started laughing here and there a little. (Although i don't really know which is better, laughing or not.)

Actually, just a quick question, why did Mrs Ee come and watch us? I know she was assessing, but who? Us or *ahem* Mr Toh?

And then, there was Qulao's lesson! Where everyone went *urgh* and *argh* and *oh no* and stuff like that! And (I must add) she was in a considerably GOOD MOOD!!! (Thank you to Weishan who is her PET STUDENT! I am SURE it was you who made her happy!)

Well, Xiaozu kind of ended like that (IF i remembered correctly) but there are some things i would like to add! (Some THING rather.) I AM NOT PLAYING MY INSTRUMENT CORRECTLY FOR QINWANG (YIKESSSSSSSSSSSSS!)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SO SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No, i tell you i will try my best to go change my way! D: D: D: D: D:

FRIDAY! So to make up for Thursday, we all went for GZ Audi rehearsal. And then... MORE CHANGES!!! GOODNESS! And there went all the setting-up-of-instruments problems and then i drew this REALLY REALLY ROUGH diagram of our instruments but oh well! In the end, on Saturday, we decided to just leave everything on stage so yeah, so much for trying to draw!

So rehearsal was kind of "rehearsalish" but we kept getting scolded by the teacher (don't know who she is) and i was actually QUITE (if not very) PISSED with her for she kept scolding us (just in a nice way). D: NO, seriously i have NOTHING against her but oh well. I guess i'm not a person with good character? OH WELL A BIG SORRY TO THAT LADY FOR GETTING PISSED WITH YOU FOR NO APPARENT REASON THAT SOUNDS VALID! D:

And after all that, we went back to m4 to find... Mrs Ee was kind of scolding about Thursday! Something about us not starting Xiaozu punctually at 3 and that we were making use of the people who ended class at 3 to start Xiaozu later. Yeah. So new rules (or old), we all have to report to CCA latest 15 MINUTES after class/remedial/supplementary/any activity!!!! PLEASE TAKE NOTE!!!!

And i think Friday kind of ended like that and *urgh* all felt a bit *urgh* and i was feeling really demoralized by the GZ practice cause i kept messing up (SORRY!). D: But oh well, after that was fine, THANK YOU!

MORNING CIRCLE! Let's see, from now on we are going to practice QinWang during morning circles right? Yeah but that's actually a choice i think so it's not really definite, i think it's up to us yeah? But best if we do, cause i'm getting seriously NERVOUS and FREAKED!!! Let's all try to make Morning circles more conducive yeah?

LUNCH PRACTICES! OK, so most of the time i show up for lunch prac, we're gathered in the Yangqin room. Sometimes, m4 doesn't OPEN! Recently, our poor aircon in m4-02 SPOILED! But that's not the main point! I find myself slacking during lunch prac and end up not doing anything conducive, which is REALLY bad! SO SORRY!!!!! I hope we will all tune Yangqins or practice Daji/YQ stuff during lunch prac instead of digressing! YES!!!!

SATURDAY! About Saturday, i see that Wendy has already posted so THANK YOU! I seriously messed up during the GZ concert and well, i was SLOW! D: D: D: D: NOT GOOD! And well SORRY TO THE GUZHENG-ERS!!!! D: I smsed Vivien but she didn't reply...

About the surprise! I felt so cheated!!!! Seriously, both sylvia and i felt very cheated of our feelings~!!! And well, Sylvia cried quite bad for the first time in her Nanyang life, but she didn't know why she cried! Rachel was SUPER SUPER touched! As for me, IT WAS SUPER SURPRISING!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This might sound GAY but i don't care, I LOVE YOU ALL!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! THANK YOU FOR SPENDING YOUR TIME, BREATH AND SMILES ON EVERYTHING!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!! ^^

SPECIALLY FOR SYLVIA'S MOTHER: THANK YOU SO MUCH! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! ^^

As for the food, i think i am bringing back if you guys want to eat it... do you? Cause right now, i am stopping everyone in my family from eating the food! HAHAHA! SORRY SYLVIA (JULIET) that i stole your food away! You can take it back from me! AND DON'T CRY OK? ^^

OH AND THANK YOU XINYI AND XINYI'S MOM for driving me home~!!! Made it much more convenient!!!

THANK YOU EVERYBODY!!!! I FEEL SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER HONOURED!!!! AND YOU KNOW, IT'S THE FIRST TIME I'VE EVER RECEIVED THAT BALLOON THINGUM! THANK YOU SO MUCH~!

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE (IF YOU WANT I CAN GIVE YOU KISSES TOO!),
yuka ^^

Hi everyone, since I am awake, ( and watching Harry Potter and the goblet of Fire- which my mum just bought)i've decided to blog about today's event. I shall try, in as much detail as I can, to record down everything i can remember for the sake of those absent ( mainly sec 1s -.-) any side jokes and whtever, pls add in (:

( i'm seriously gonna take a long time. i'm distracted by harry potter :P)

So, it started with us ( sylvia, yunge, me, weishan, yuka, raechel) meeting at the bus stop at 7.15am. Then Yuka said we had to go to guzheng room to lian MENG LI HUA (yucks!) with the others, which i strongly disagreed to. THE GOOD THING is that m4-01 wasn't locked since ytd (friday), so we went there and supposedly lian meng li hua (which we ended up slping and hearing the song as well actually). Then we had to get dressed and start the rehearsal for the last time.

i should believe everyone would like me to skip this part, as it has no meaning and completely a repeat of the actual performances.

*skips rehearsal*

And so the actually performance starts, with amanda just ariving in time. ( by now, i'd have eaten 6 bai tu tang n 2 lollipops) pipa ppl are doing funny actions, and cherie, tricia n jasmine were zi pai-ing etc. Oh, before we continue, the programme:
ju hua tai
niu li ge
pipa- gz duet
gz solo
ju tai feng
long chuan
chun jie xu qu
ai jiang tou
meng li hua
endless love
So, the sec 2 juniors are made to sing ( with mics) the chorus part for mengli hua (haha) with lydia, the main singer. So on this point, we must congradulate on the job well done by sec 2s *claps* for being brave enough to go up and sing.

yup, and for the encore piece (endless love)-which no one shouted encore for, all of us had to go on to the ailes ( dunno how it's spelt) to xie4 mu4. Then it was over. Meanwhile, dear chewy and friends were selling popcorn chicken, nuggets, fries, onion rings n malt candy( which i heard mock candy). I heard they did quite well ( which reminds me, i haven't paid yet. oops.), congrats again, *claps* for their entrepreneurship against choir! haha.
oh btw, lunch was frm canteen stall, mixed veg, so it's quite gd. yay.

then it was break time, and we slacked a lot- by which i was obsessed over city bloxx. HA, so i didn't really noticed things around me. except that pearly is quite open, with zips n all that ahem. (:
then dinner time, (chicken rice, for ur info) and then time for the 2nd performance! (by which i'd have eaten another lollipop and a few more sweets- i m so gonna have diabetes) all was going quite ok. except when it was chun jie, the suspended cymbal's mallets were half gone, so there was some small glitch, and the snare drum is spoilt. the snares won't stick to the drum. Other than that, the rest were pretty fine.

meanwhile... the BIG PLAN was going fine. *smirks*

Well, so, we had to go for debriefing, which i didn't bother to attend, so i went walking around the foyer with cass. OH MAN, mr mac's quite witty. some comemnts he said: " the $2 note 's too heavy in your walltes, take them out" " one cup is not enough. there's always room for more" oh man, hope he sold all the bubbletea. Oh and he mentioned cass's name, and i was telling her, " he remembers your name"
" well yea, he teached us before. he recognise u too mah, come"
"hi mr mac, do you remember her?"
"of course, how are you?"
"fine?"
"i;m not good with names see, i teach about 300 students every year"
- k shall stop here, digressed :P

So, we went back to backstage, got our stuff, and went up to m4-01 to help xinyi, joy n jaime to blow balloons ( huffs and puffs) - and for 2 times, we got scared, cos we thought the 3 ppl were coming, which instead was py and amanda, and pipa ppl (thanks them for helping) WHILE chewy was to stall for time, make up excuses to make them stay at the audi.

first it was sth about how mrs ee commented on their performance, saying how bad it was, which made them thought really hard, and feel disappointed.( at this time, yunge n weishan are already up, bringing the food that sylvia's mum kindly provided for us! THANKYOU! * claps*
THEN, chewy came up with this ( or rather, xinyi) excuse that vivian hadn't given us the m4 keys, so we were kind of stuck, so we had to wait.

MEANWHILE, we were all ready, getting all the balloons to congregate at the door, waiting to surprise rae, yuka and syl; with loads of BOOMS from out of nowhere(balloons seems to be afraid of cass- they pop when she touches them) SO, we waited in the darkness for what seemed like forever. We kept hearing voices, thinking that they are up already, which were afterwards, confirmed that they were from m3-01 (gz ppl). So, we were waiting in suspense,( jaime's afraid of dark!haha), and kept hushing us up when the volume was getting outta control( abit paranoid- AND joy was actually serious about hushing up! hahahahaha). Then, xinyi gave the FINAL call to chewy to confirm that we were all ready, after waiting for ever, and seeing no one appearing.

AND THEN.... *music* the final moment! I heard yuka n rae's voices. AND THEY WERE GETTING LOUDER! and the door opens... and...

AJEPOIJWKJN}_!#(TU}!_(%08u! *THROWS BALLONS AND screams* at them. Then there was a chained reaction. Rae screamed ( shocked) then yuka screamed cos she screamed, then syl screamed cos the other 2 screamed. Then we sang birthday song for them (practically shouted)And they CRIED! aw... too touched for words.well, it was all going well, till, the bunch of teachers chased us out. cos we had to lock the school anyway. So we went to the yun xian ting, and celebrated their birthdays. So much food! so nice! ( jaime n joy left le :( so sad)

unfortunately, sylvia had to leave b4 we even got to eat anything. still, the food was nice. thanks syl's mum again. So while eating, ppl left one by one as our parents came, and in the end, cass n i were left. And we left! ( haha, pun. not exactly a pun.) So that concludes the day(night). Oh yea, and syl said this was the 1st time she cried in nygh, nice one.

Once again, happy birthday to yuka, sylvia and rachel. Hope you guys enjoyed the surprise party. I know i missed loads of facots and points, but the big picture is there. Gd luck for all the chionged SIAs and happy sabbs and hols!

wisely weasel

YAYYAY OKAY HIHI lol i shall...try n limit my post so that i contains less crap and more...uh..content =D

TUESDAY DAZU:
on tuesday, yuka yunge and rachel and i were late cause of some debate thingy. so by the time we got back for lin lao shi's dazu. no. wrong phrasing. it's WHEN we got back, we realised that one yangqin was missing so we had to moveee another yangqin in and it was bad cause...its in the middle of a dazu and a yangqin has to squeeze in. imagine ppl. yup! so but we did it! and then dazu for us begann. uh i dont realli remember anything distinct about that dazu..but i think the yangqin ppl are realli improving by..uh..wads that.bounds n something. OH RIGHT leaps and bounds. yaya so we jumped to greater heights xD and we made less mistakes than before and i think thats realli good. and i think daji was fine too! haha! yea so..its abit short la cause i cant realli remember much...its called stm. lol. sry!

FRIDAY DAZU:
ok this is gonna be even shorter laa...sheesh. cause the sec 2s went for guzheng prac so we missed mrs ee's dazu. but i heard frm cass n chewy that this dazu was one of the best cause di yi actually sounded NICE! haha! which is sad for us cause we HAD to miss such a nice dazu =( aww. but its okay loll if di yi sounded nice, it should sound even nicer next dazu! yup!! and guzheng was fine as well...lol we played zhan tai feng. and i thought those who played (rachel yunge n yuka) did a VERY good job! yay! claps!

SATURDAY CONCERT:
WAHA SUPER FUNNY LOL LOL!! ok lets start from the mrt. by the time i reached, alot of ppl were there la its like..one whole colony of nyco ppl just standing around. LOL. we were waiting for some of the SLs who went for yfc. so when they came, we all cheered VERY LOUDLY! which was cool! cause we were at an mrt station! LOL! ok then it was dinner! and chewy talked about shaving her head...and cass, wendy and joy disapproved while jiani, me, rachel, yuka and yunge approved. cause its for charity!! but our main concern was about concert...but then smart yunge she said that it'd attract more attention LOL!! which is true!! haha so yea...i think its really good that chewy wants to shave her head cause..well..usually being a girl ur hair's one of the most important stuffs. so...CHEWY THE GREAT AND KIND SL xD hahaha. yea then..we all linked arms and walked in a chain and laughed laughed all the way to the esplanade. then the songs at the concert were nice....some were SUPER nice and some were loooong and dreary that we almost fell asleep =.= and then we observed the guy playing the cymbols and we realised his hands turn once! and not...a million times. LOL so we learnt how to play the cymbols! haha. yea...and the encore pieces were..interesting. =D haha yup okay im sorry i didnt add in the funfun details like when we went up and did the mass hug thingy after seeing *ahem* yea. LOL. cause i gotta go chionggg SIAs! sry!!

Dear section mates,
I don't know why I am feeling so extremely dreary now. I think you can call it "emo", but there are so many thoughts in my head now. Maybe it will be good to share with you all everything we had (it's a song name).
I do several countdowns on my computer to various events, be these NYCO Concert 2008, DrumZout auditions, Council stuff etc. I believe they help me keep track of the happenings in my life. Which suddenly occured to me I don't have much time left with you guys anymore. Same goes for Joy and Jaime. I know this sounds a little hard to stomach, but it's all a realization that will dawn upon you cold and quick when such a day finally arrives.
Quick check: 2 weeks left to DrumZout, 75 more days to our concert. And a number of assorted activities. A few months left to graduation.
---
Nevertheless, Yun Ge should know how incredibly fortunate she is to be able to be the timpanist in the orchestra. In symphony orchestras, the timpani is a section on itself. A timpanist is also the most highly paid after the conductor. How does that sound to me? It tells you that the timpanist bears a lot of responsibility for the orchestra's music. Insipid playing leads to bland music. So Yun Ge, do get into your role soon... with my beloved Tim.
When I go away I think I will miss lying down at the timpani area looking at the ceiling, or talking to people through tiny little holes.
And about the Yangqin, I can't exactly say I love or hate it firmly. You know, how good things and bad things all average up to give you a very neutral feeling. But I am glad a lot of you, my loved section mates, are more positive towards to the Yangqin. Let what Mrs Ee says, love it do let the instrument be like you.
I don't think I will miss tuning the Yangqin, but I am quite sure I will appreciate the opportunities learning the Yangqin had given me.
---
Aww, this is becoming a draggy post. Nevertheless, I love you all, really. For being the bulk of my life, for providing me the spark amidst the dull, for the immense support you had been.
Love,
Chewy-Fei

YESYES!!! I logged in for the first time. HAHA. Finally. The first post of my entire life.*Clap*
Ok, I am motivated by Pei Er's post and i guess I should say something as well, sth about our section and taking the opportunity that today is... Labour Dya!!! I should thank my seniors and batchmate for what they did in the past er...five months. ^_^ (Opinions are purely subjective, pls don't feel provoked if i said sth unsuitably)

First up, we have Pei Er, my batchmate and the youngest member in our section.( i feel elated to be a few months older and... relatively taller!HEHE) And I would like to thank her for being humourous throughout pratices,( most of the time, but keep me laughing in front of Qu lao is not really advisable, so ...) keeping me high on the spirit. She is also conscientious and prepared some of the amenities in the yangqin room. I should learn from her. YAY~~although i am still puzzled about the relationship between the scotch tape and the curtain. ?_?

next up, we have Rachel, weishan, yunge, Yuka and Sylvia, my sec 2 seniors!!!!

Rachel: has the ability to lead well, sometimes serious enough to make your juniors awe and your enthusiasm can really spur us to excel.(may be you didn't realise it, but that's what your junior think. :) You learnt and adapted fast.( Qu lao told the sec 1s you only came joined YQP last year, in may.)

Weishan: A understanding senior who is quite mature, adept in YQ and

Yunge: Very mature senior who is good at chinese, excels academically and yet can manage her time so well. Envy~envy~

Yuka: A cheerful and high-pitched senior who brings happiness to our section. Once, tried to take bus 67 with me~~~ But ended up getting lost and alighted half way through.T_T

Sylvia: A polite and helpful senior who tries to help us wherever possible. Delightful PSL, with a cheering smile! B)

In general, I would like to thank the sec 2 seniors for being soooooooo understanding, cheerful and helping me in YQ.
*clapclap*
Time for sec 3s!

Xinyi: Enthusiastic and diligent senior who is approachable and pro in percussion~~ I strongly feel that you are proficient in logical thinking skill. Am I right? Thank you for helping us with the technical stuff

Wendy: As what most ppl feel, Wendy is understanding and always ready to help. I still vividly remember the first time I practised Yq(When pei er wasn't here and I stayed in the YQ room for the whole pratice -_-" )I didn't understand how you knew i was feeling a bit cold and lend you jacket to me. It is thought that count, so A big "thank you"!!

Cassandra: A cheerful and the first YQP senior I met. A very adept Xylophone Glockenspiele player. YAY~~ Tried to help me and Pei Er for Ji Ben Gong. BIG BIG thank you for that!!

Jaime and Joy: close friends who always wear the jacket, no matter it rains or shine. Jaime, mature and understanding, Joy is cheerful and always appear to be thinking of sth...
Always try to help the two youngest member of YQP. We appreciate your efforts!

Last but not the least, we have Chewy!!! Our beloved SL, councillor, advanced LITer, YQP's private motivational speaker and...
I think she has the quality of a leader, both psychologically and physically. Let me elaborate: she can manage her councillor and YQP affairs well, ensuring that they don't collide with each other. Enough stamina to cope with study, cca and student council matters. Approachable and open-minded, always looking for opinions. Let me tried timpani, snare on the day when i first came! HAHA! First time in NYGH!!!( it is only someday after that i realise how precious the timpani is)

Ok that's all.
