Also, xiaozu on 6 Aug (Thurs) is NOT affected. Please come for practice as usual. There will not be CCA on 7 Aug (Fri) as it's the National Day celebration.

Oh and for the upper sec, the Teachers' Day concert audition will be either on 13 or 14 Aug, during lunch or after school. Pick a slot and tell me!

EVIL GNOME SPOT IN M401

SOME weeks ago, members of the Yang Ching Dah Chee Association were shocked to find an evil gnome sleeping in M401, a practice venue for young budding percussionists.

According to eyewitnesses, the gnome was sleeping behind the timpani, clad in what seemed to be a school uniform.

For privacy purposes, the school logos on the gnome's clothes have been censored.

Despite the gnome's strange appearance and the fact that it was weilding what seemed a weapon (nunchucks with cotton ends), the curious members of the Association were more excited than frightened of the alien being.

"It was just sleeping so serenely," said Ms Wei Shan Lim, "I couldn't help but take a few photos with it for keepsake."

The gnome was left undisturbed until it woke up, only to be stunned by the number of people surrounding it. In panic, it fled the scene and was never to be seen again.

Moral of the story? NEVER SLEEP IN DAZU. :)

KAY... this may seem a little out of point. But seriously, i think this makes sense! (credits to me (: cos i posted it on my blog-.-)

This is what I think:

I think SYF CO CJ is not like NAC- NCMC. We don't compete with anyone. We compete with ourselves. In the end, you don't get GWH not because another school got it, and there's only one GWH place, but because your standard is really not there yet. You are competing with yourself to do better and get what you want to get. What other schools get will not really affect what we will get.

That is why this is called a CENTRAL JUDGING. Not a COMPETITION. SYF is somewhat like a mark to tell ourselves where our standard roughly is. Try not to think of it as competition against other schools, but a performance at its best, only it is graded. It is in a way a stop for all the COs to stay on track (standard). If you had sth higher the last time round, it's a wake up call for you to buck up. To maintain the standard and not let it drop even more.

That is what SYF CO CJ is for.

maybe other people have said this or whatever, but i only thought of SYF in this way a few hours ago while CO blog surfing (: (and watching horror movie at the same time >< -BUT that's besides the point XD)

Hey YQP!

Let's have percussion lunch practice every day after the holidays! As Mrs Ee has said, our playing is not up to standard yet and we really need more practice together.

Also note percussion is having lunch practice with Mrs Ee on 26 March, Thursday. This is COMPULSORY! Remember remember remember.

Meanwhile, good luck to yangqin people with, uh, tuning (: (Heh I understand your pain ok! I need to tune the obstinate/rebellious/menopausal timpani...!)

Hey everyone! Those involved this Saturday, make sure to ask for parent's consent orally (no consent form given). Teachers will be asking your parents tomorrow to check. Also bring your white blouse and long black pants tomorrow for standardization.

Attire for Saturday's rehearsal: Any casual white shirt (as plain as possible), long pants (dark-coloured, no jeans) and court shoes. Strictly no uniform or school-related shirts as we are not representing school.

Attire for actual day: White blouse, tie, long black pants and court shoes. Bring plasters (for shoes) if necessary. Hair accesories must be black. All should be neat and presentable. Bring foundation, blusher and lipstick/gloss. (At least minimal makeup must be put on, the lights there are very bright!)

Schedule for Saturday's rehearsal:
7.30 am: Report at M401, move instruments down
8.15 am: Lorry leaves pick-up location. We make our own way to the place, by cab or bus.
9.15 am: Lorry arrives at performance venue. Unload and move instruments.
9.30 am: Report, wait for our turn on stage.
10.00-10.30 am: Our allocated slot
10.45 am: Lorry arrives. Load instruments.
11 am: Lorry leaves. We make our own way back.
12 nn: Lunch!
(May have practice after lunch, unconfirmed)

Schedule for actual day:
10 am: Report at M401 and practise!
12 nn: Lunch, chat, relax, nap
2.15 pm: Wash up, get changed, put on make-up, move instruments down
2.45 pm: Lorry arrives
3 pm: Lorry leaves pick-up location, we make our own way there. (Cab)
4 pm: Lorry arrives at performance venue. Unload instruments, report, wait. (Last-minute foundation/blusher too)
4.45-6.30 pm: Showtime!
6.45 pm: Lorry arrives, we leave
7.30 pm: Put everything back in M401, go home (:

By 22 November 2008 (Saturday), every single YQP member must:

1) Memorize her own 秦王点兵 and 冲天炮parts

2) Be very familiar with both pieces of music (i.e. dynamics, musical landmarks, where certain parts come in, etc. Refer to 总谱s to get the gist of the pieces.)

Any member found to have intentionally ignored the above will be punished with 30 push-ups (knees off floor!) and run 8 rounds of the school track.

Okay, i shall stop tagging on the tagboard before i start spamming it.

SO HI EVERYONE, this is me in China, and our kindest teacher-in-charge (china one) has agreed to let us use the com lab for one hour.
And though its not windows vista or apple, its still pretty fast. for windows 2000 at least -.-

So, today's the 3rd day, and we saw our room mates (erm, its awkward to hear them say BGR stuff cos they say it real deep like gao ding blah blah blah) nice people. And as usual, the section (yqp) whose members always like to not abide by the rules, we sneaked out of school with them for a hearty (meaning not so salty) breakfast (cos school food sucks, as usual). Wonderful day today, considering that it had been raining the days before, 24 hours non stop.

Haven't found anything worth to buy back for you guys, but

I WENT TO THEIR SUPERMARKET AND SAW THIS WHOLE SERIES OF POCKY CONSISTING OF AT LEAST 10 FLAVOURS RANGING FROM MINT TO MANGO TO BANANA TO COFFEE!!!!!
*SCREAMS*
haha, well, i bought them all.
And their milk pocky is in real big box, not the small puny one we buy in singapore. AND THEIR STUFF IS DAMN CHEAP. Like how erm cup of instant lipton tea with jelly (SUPER NICE) is like $0.60.

erm, my group mate is laughing non stop at her computer screen. Nobody is caring, but mrs ee is secretly giggling to bits. Everyone is punching intenetly and seriously on the keyboard, and the room is full of the keyboards chattering.
